A brief history of the IHT
The Institute of Health Technology (IHT) Dhaka, located in Mohakhali, Dhaka – 1212, is one of the pioneer government Medical Technology Institutions in Bangladesh. Established in 1963, it has been instrumental in addressing the nation’s need for skilled health professionals.

Over the years, the government has recognized the importance of such institutions and has expanded their presence across the country to meet the growing demand for qualified medical technologists & health Professionals . The institute’s mission is to produce skilled health professionals to meet both national and international demands, contributing significantly to the healthcare sector in Bangladesh and beyond. The Institute of Health Technology (IHT) Dhaka offers a range of programs aimed at training skilled health professionals. The courses are structured as follows:

Objectives of the Dhaka IHT Alumni Association (DIPAA)
1. Upholding Professional Integrity
- Ensure the maintenance of honour, independence, and ethical standards among members.
- Promote honorable practices and prevent malpractice within the profession.
2. Strengthening Alumni-IHT Relations
- Foster close relations and cooperation between the IHT and its alumni.
- Promote alumni engagement in IHT affairs and development initiatives.
- Establish alumni programs that benefit both graduates and the institution.
3. Supporting IHT Development
- Assist and support the IHT and its departments in securing funds for growth and innovation.
- Provide a platform for alumni to contribute to academic excellence.
4. Information Sharing and Representation
- Disseminate updates on the IHT, its faculties, staff, and students to alumni.
- Express alumni opinions on matters concerning the IHT and national interest.
5. Student Mentorship and Financial Assistance
- Establish a mentorship program for B.Sc. Physiotherapy students from their first academic year.
- Provide financial aid and essential academic resources for students without external sponsorship.
6. Professional Collaboration and Advocacy
- Work collaboratively with professional bodies to enhance the physiotherapy profession.
- Address professional concerns and advocate for the profession’s interests when necessary.
